How to Choose a Rehabilitation Program

The following is a list of questions which will assist you and your family in understanding features which should be included in a neuro rehabilitation program and how to make an informed decision about your care. Be sure to ask to ask CRS Rehabilitation Specialists these questions too!

1. Can the treatment be ordered, approved, and monitored by my current physician?
   
   
2. Will my insurance cover my treatment? How will I know what portion, if any, I will be responsible for?
   
   
3. Will I get treatment from all the therapy disciplines that I need? Does that include Social Work and Nursing?
   
   
4. How will information be communicated about my treatment plan, status and goals to my physician and insurance company?
   
   
5. What happens to me if I become ill during therapy or if there is an emergency when I am being treated?
   
   
6. What happens if I live outside of the area of the facility that I choose? Will I need to find my own transportation? Will I have to pay for the transportation?
   
   
7. Is there a way of communicating my feelings about the program during my course of treatment? What if I have a complaint or suggestion?
   
   
8. Who determines what my goals are?
   
   
9. Will my family  or significant other be involved in my care?
