Quieting the Mind, Healing the Spirit - A Meditation Workshop

This 5-week meditation workshop will help you explore the process of meditation, teach you how to relax, center yourself, organize your thoughts, and help you be less anxious.

Joint Replacement and Rehabilitation – Getting the Facts

Dr. Norman Aliga, Medical Director of the Marianjoy Joint Access Program, and Marianjoy Orthopedic Therapists provide an overview on joint replacements, the different types of post-surgery rehabilitation, and demonstrate exercises to help strengthen muscles prior to surgery to help improve recovery.

Sports Concussions -- The Serious Side of Play

Sports concussions in athletes can have serious ramifications. A concussion may include symptoms including the inability to focus, headaches, dizziness, changes in personality and sleep disruptions. Returning to play too soon after a concussion may result in a higher risk of sustaining another concussion, serious long-term symptoms, and even death.

In this presentation, you will learn about what happens to the brain when a concussion occurs, the symptoms of a concussion, proper treatment approaches, and the use of  ImPACT TestingTM to measure the severity of a sports concussions and recovery time needed.
