Marianjoy offers most classes free of charge unless otherwise indicated in the descriptions below. Registration is required for all classes. You may enroll by clicking the registration below or calling 630-909-7102.
Effective Treatment and Management
Parkinson’s disease is a slow progressive neurological condition that affects over one-million people in the United States. Though there is no cure for Parkinson’s, treatment options including medication, surgery and therapy may help to alleviate some of the symptoms.
This free presentation by Marianjoy therapists and a pharmacist will give individuals with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers information regarding:
- The signs and symptoms of the disease
- Available treatment options including physical therapy, speech therapy, and medications
- The medications used to treat Parkinson’s, how they work, and the side effects
- Exercises that can help keep you moving

Adult Aquatic Therapy Classes
Marianjoy offers adult Community Pool Programs for those patients who have previously received aquatic therapy at Marianjoy. The programs are designed to enable participants to independently continue to perform the aquatic exercise home programs prescribed by their therapist. A Marianjoy therapist is on hand in the pool during the designated timeframes to answer any questions or provide assistance as needed. Participants must be fully continent, have intact skin with no open areas or wounds, and be medically stable to perform exercise in a warm water environment.

Adult Summer Therapeutic Golf
Marianjoy's Therapeutic Golf Program helps individuals regain independence and functionality, and helps them
get back to the game of golf.
The Marianjoy Therapeutic Golf
Program is open to golfers of all ability levels and is designed to help each
person improve at their own pace. These clinics help individuals regain independence and functionality, and help
get them back to the game of golf.
Clinic participants will have an opportunity to practice on the range,
putting green, and a short course setting. Instruction is tailored to
meet each person's unique needs. Our program is open to all golfers of all
ability levels and are designed to help each person improve at his or her ownpace!

Attend one or attend them all! Clinics meet Thursdays, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (*unless otherwise noted). There is a $25 charge per clinic.

It's Tee Time!
A FREE introductory Therapeutic Golf Clinic for adults of all ability levels. Learn about Marianjoy’s Therapeutic Golf Clinics as well as:
• Alternative and/or adaptive techniques available to play golf
• Instruction on golf-related stretches/exercises for strengthening that can be started at home
• Rotate through various stations with an opportunity for hands-on experience, including a brief initial assessment and swing analysis by a therapist and a PGA Pro
• Meet the Marianjoy Therapeutic Golf Program staff with the opportunity to ask questions
Space is limited and registration is required.

Yoga is the perfect exercise to help calm your mind, stretch your body, and firm your core. All physical ability levels are welcome and modifications to the exercises will be shown.
Interested in signing up for the next five week session?
When: Classes take place every Monday and Thursday for five-weeks. Sessions continue on a consecutive basis. Call for information on the next upcoming session.
Time: 5:45-6:45 p.m.
Where: The Marianjoy Adminstration Building
Cost: A five-week session is $50 – only $5/per class! Payment can be made on the first night of class. Cash or check is accepted.
