Integrative Holistic Medicine Clinic

Holistic Prevention and Management of Chronic Illness

What is an Integrative Holistic Medicine Clinic?

Integrative holistic medicine describes an approach to healthcare that focuses on the prevention and management of chronic illness in conjunction with the existing allopathic or conventional medical treatment. The purpose of the Marianjoy Integrative Holistic Medicine Clinic is to help individuals with chronic illnesses learn more about optimum health, self-empowerment, and prevention of acute flare-ups of their conditions. This insight and control is achieved through focus on some or all of the following:

• Healthy lifestyle
• Recommendations for balanced nutrition

• Spiritual counseling

Acupuncture treatments

Meditation

Recommendations about vitamins and minerals

Who can benefit from an Integrative Holistic Medicine Clinic?

Individuals with chronic illness such as, but not limited to:

• Chronic fatigue syndrome

• Hypertension
• Chronic sinusitis

• Arthritis
• Chronic headache

• Diabetes mellitus
• Chronic insomnia

• Any chronic illness

How the Integrative Holistic Medicine Clinic differs from traditional medicine

The Marianjoy Integrative Holistic Medicine Clinic does not replace medical management by a primary care or specialty care physician. Individuals with any chronic illness must continue to see their regular physician. All prescriptions for medications must be managed by their regular physician.

What happens during an appointment in this clinic?

When you arrive, you will be asked to complete a self-survey about your general health, spiritual well-being, and diet. Dr. Gouri Chaudhuri, a Marianjoy Medical Group physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation and integrative holistic medicine, will evaluate you and review the medications that you are taking. Following that session, you may be referred for nutritional counseling, meditation training, spiritual guidance, or acupuncture as part of your recommended treatment plan.

What does it cost?

Payment is expected at the time of your visit for services that are not covered by your insurance. If you are covered by insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid, you will be responsible for any co-pay or deductible for the physician visit. You will be informed of the fees for service based on the physician’s treatment plan.

To schedule an appointment with Dr. Chaudhuri at the Marianjoy Integrative Holistic Wellness Clinic, please call: 630-909-7000.
