Marianjoy Subacute Rehabilitation
Subacute Inpatient Rehabilitation
Marianjoy provides subacute inpatient care to individuals requiring a customized therapy plan in our own 20 bed Marianjoy Subacute Center on the third floor of Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton.
Subacute care meets the need of those patients who are unable to withstand the intensity of acute rehabilitation therapy. It is also ideal for those patients who have completed our acute rehabilitation program, but still need to work toward their functional goals in order to go home. Responding to these patients needs, Marianjoy has established a new level of care that provides an integrated "link" between acute rehabilitation and home.
The new Marianjoy Subacute Center is located within Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital. This specialized transitional care center provides comprehensive subacute rehabilitation for patients who require a customized therapy plan that allows them to move to a higher level of independence with intensive rehabilitation. This multi-disciplinary program is designed to get individuals back home and performing many of the activities of daily life they engaged in before.
The Marianjoy Subacute Center is part of the comprehensive continuum of care offered by Marianjoy which also includes acute inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient physical therapy, and physician specialty clinics.
Marianjoy has been a pioneer in the subacute level of care for more than 20 years, working with and establishing partnerships with some of the area’s leading skilled nursing facilities. As a leader in this level of care, the Marianjoy Subacute Center is available to provide:
