AbilityLinks to Host Business Leaders Breakfast to Culminate Tenth Anniversary and National Disability Employment Awareness Month

Wheaton, IL (August 16, 2011)AbilityLinks.org, the award-winning job opportunity website for persons with disabilities and inclusive employers, will be hosting a Business Leaders Breakfast as part of its year-long tenth anniversary celebration. The breakfast event entitled A New Corporate and Business Frontier: People with Disabilities, brings together leaders and executives of inclusive corporations to explore the benefits of reaching people with disabilities as employees and as customers. The event also coincides with National Disability Employment Awareness Month. This year’s theme, Profit by Investing in Workers with Disabilities, promotes the valuable contributions people with disabilities make to the country’s workforce and economy.

The keynote address will be given by Clay Broussard of PepsiCo, who created and starred in the company’s captivating Bob’s House commercial that aired during the 2008 Super Bowl. Broussard will discuss PepsiCo’s strategy and why the company chose to promote an agenda of inclusion. The keynote address will be followed by a panel discussion of business experts, moderated by Scott Hoesman, President of the Kaleidoscope Group, an organization that helps corporations build customized diversity and inclusion strategies. The panel will feature industry leaders discussing their organizational strategies for including people with disabilities.

“For the past ten years, AbilityLinks has acted as a conduit to connect inclusive employers and job seekers and this event aims to do the same for corporations and organizations that may not yet utilize the opportunities and benefits of inclusion,” explains Kathleen Yosko, President and CEO of Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital and AbilityLinks Steering Committee Co-Chair. “This exclusive event also marks a milestone of serving people with disabilities. We are proud to have been part of bringing this valuable resource to our neighbors and communities for the last ten years and look forward to another successful decade for AbilityLinks.”

The event will be held at the DoubleTree Conference Center in Downers Grove on Thursday, October 13, 2011. For registration and sponsorship opportunities, please visit www.abilitylinks.org.
