Kathleen Yosko Named to The Lincoln Foundation Board

Wheaton, IL (September 19, 2007) Marianjoy President and CEO Kathleen Yosko has been named to the Board of Trustees of The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence. The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence is a not-for-profit organization backed by private and public funding that assists Illinois organizations continuously improve their performance by encouraging, developing, and highlighting excellence. The continuous improvement model is patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige criteria.

Paul G. Kuchuris, Jr., President and CEO of the Foundation said, “We are delighted to have an individual of Kathleen’s background and experience joining the Board. With our increasing activity in the health care sector, her experience and guidance will be a solid asset in driving the Foundation to the next level of contribution to the state of Illinois.”

Since 1998, Ms. Yosko has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Marianjoy, Inc., Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital and Marianjoy Medical Group. Earlier this year she was elected Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (AMRPA), national voice for the medical rehabilitation industry. She also has served as the chairperson of the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), as well as the chairperson of the American Rehabilitation Association (ARA), a Washington, D.C.-based organization representing providers of rehabilitation services. Her interests in health care and rehabilitation medicine span a 30-year period, serving as a clinician, administrator and patient advocate.

Marianjoy recently opened its new $60 million, 120 all private room replacement hospital in Wheaton – a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance the naturally holistic approach to rehabilitation. The new flagship facility features uniquely designed accessible gardens, a labyrinth, chapel, and a meditation room. Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital was founded 35 years ago by the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters, and maintains an extensive network of inpatient, subacute, and outpatient sites and physician clinics throughout the Chicago area. Dedicated to the delivery of physical rehabilitative medicine, Marianjoy also provides programs for community re-entry including driver and vocational rehabilitation. Marianjoy is a member of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, which owns and operates more than 100 health and shelter service organizations in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.
