Maureen Beal of National Van Lines to lead 2012-13 Marianjoy Board

March 5, 2012 (Wheaton, IL) – Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairperson to the Marianjoy Board of Directors:

Maureen Beal, President and CEO of National Van Lines, Broadview, succeeds Donald H. Fischer, Chairman of Community Bank-Wheaton/Glen Ellyn, as chair of the 16-person board. Beal has served on the Marianjoy Board of Directors since 2010 and most recently as secretary. In addition to her work with Marianjoy, Beal is actively involved in many community organizations, serving on the Board of Directors of the American Moving and Storage Association and is a Past Director of the Household Goods Carriers Bureau. She also held previous roles as Chair of the American Cancer Society Board of DuPage County, and past Chairman of the Board of Aspire, an organization that works with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Currently, Beal is a Trustee for Benedictine University and a Board Member for the Humanitarian Project of Carol Stream, Illinois.

“It has been a privilege to serve on the board of such a distinguished organization such as Marianjoy – one that is dedicated to the delivery of exceptional rehabilitation care to people with disabilities,” Beal says. “I am honored to follow Mr. Fischer as board chair in my continued service to the rehabilitation community and look forward to meeting the challenges of an ever-changing healthcare environment.”

The Marianjoy Board of Directors has also added one new member for 2012:


Scott W. Hamer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Financial Shares and its subsidiary, Community Bank-Wheaton/Glen Ellyn. He previously served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the subsidiary. Hamer is a resident of Glen Ellyn.
