Marianjoy 20th Annual Golf Invitational at Cantigny

June 16, 2008, Wheaton, IL — The Marianjoy Foundation — with support from Leaders Bank, Molex, and Scheck & Siress — is hosting its 20th Annual Charity Golf Outing on July 14 at Cantigny Golf Course in Winfield. Proceeds from the event will benefit rehabilitation programs for adults and children at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, including the Therapeutic Golf Program.

The event begins in the morning with 20 adult golfers from Marianjoy’s Therapeutic Golf Program who will be playing nine holes. The program, which is supported by a $20,000 grant from the USGA, helps individuals include survivors of stroke and spinal cord injuries, amputees, and orthopedic patients who want to remain active despite a physical disability.

For golfers participating in the invitational, registration begins at 10:00 a.m. There is time to practice on the driving range and a luncheon buffet, and then the shotgun start is at 12:00 p.m. The day ends with cocktails and a dinner buffet, silent auction including Cubs and Sox tickets, a Wii tournament, and presentation of the 2008 Marianjoy Par Excellence Award in Tribute to Joe Jemsek.
