SIX MARIANJOY DOCTORS NAMED “TOP SPORTS DOCTORS” BY CHICAGO MAGAZINE

Wheaton, IL (February 28, 2011) – Six Marianjoy Medical Group physicians have been named “Top Sports Doctors” by Chicago Magazine. Dr. Norman Aliga, Dr. Gouri Chaudhuri, Dr. Dennis Keane, Dr. Richard Krieger, Dr. Noel Rao, and Dr. Jeffrey Oken will be included on the exclusive list which is scheduled to be published in April. “The physicians named to this list are leaders in their respective fields and deserve the recognition,” said Kathleen Yosko, President and CEO of Marianjoy in Wheaton. “While they are all board certified physiatrists focused on physical medicine and rehabilitation, each has made significant contributions to the community and to research.”

Physiatrist Norman Aliga is the medical director of the Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation program at Marianjoy. He is the attending physician for Marianjoy’s Amputee Clinic and an assistant professor at Rush Medical College in Chicago. Dr. Aliga was named a Top Doctor by Chicago Magazine in 1997 and 2001.

Physiatrist Gouri Chaudhuri is medical director of the day rehabilitation program at Marianjoy. She is also an assistant professor at Rush Medical College in Chicago and was previously named a “Top Doctor” by Chicago Magazine in 1997 and 2001.

Physiatrist Dennis Keane is medical director of rehabilitation services at Rush-Copley Medical Center and its 18-bed rehabilitation unit in Aurora, Illinois. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as pain medicine and electrodiagnostic medicine (EMG).

Physiatrist Richard Krieger is a medical director at Marianjoy and an assistant professor at Rush Medical College in Chicago. His subspecialty expertise includes musculoskeletal pain management and spinal injections.

Physiatrist Noel Rao is chief medical officer, vice president of medical affairs, and director of the residency program at Marianjoy. He is an assistant professor at Rush Medical College in Chicago and was previously named “Top Doctor” by Chicago Magazine in 1997 and 2001. His expertise includes research designed to improve balance through the use of orthotics.

Physiatrist Jeffrey Oken the associate medical director for outpatient services at Marianjoy and medical director for the pain management program at Marianjoy in Oakbrook Terrace. He is an assistant professor at Rush Medical College in Chicago and a lecturer for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Loyola University Medical School. His subspecialty expertise includes interventional pain management and sports rehabilitation.
