Marianjoy Medical GroupThe Marianjoy Medical Group is a network of board-certified physiatrists who manage 200 inpatient rehabilitation beds, 500 subacute skilled nursing facility beds, and eight outpatient clinics. The physicians specialize in treating spinal cord injuries, stroke, brain injuries, musculoskeletal conditions, neuromuscular disorders and pediatrics. HistoryFormerly known as the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic (RMC), the practice began in 1982. Between 1983 and 1996, RMC grew from four to 21 physiatrists. In 1996, Marianjoy, Inc. acquired the group and RMC became, as it is today, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marianjoy, Inc. In 2001, the MMG was created as a way to acknowledge the connection between the physicians and Marianjoy Hospital for those served.* Because Marianjoy is a teaching hospital, the MMG physicians are nationally and internationally recognized teaching faculty in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation and are active in the Marianjoy residency program. The MMG physicians treat a variety of diagnoses and have expertise in: To best meet the needs of patients and families, the MMG physicians evaluate and treat patients in over 50 locations throughout the Chicago area. *MMG is a separate corporation and MMG physicians provide rehabilitation medical care to patients at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital as well as to patients in acute rehab and subacute programs and outpatient clinics at designated locations throughout the Chicago suburbs. They are independent physicians with medical staff privileges to treat patients and are not employed directly by Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital. MMG PhysiatristsThe MMG physiatrists are board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In addition, many MMG physicians have obtained specialty certification in pain management, spinal cord injury, pediatrics and EMG. |
