Abraham Barnabas, M.D.
Dr. Barnabas completed medical school at the University of West Indies at Trinidad. He was first introduced to the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation during medical school when his father experienced a stroke and was treated by a physiatrist for chronic pain. As a result, his treatment philosophy centers around the patient, recognizing the value of family support in the rehabilitation process.
Dr. Barnabas completed his residency at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton and was selected as chief resident during his final year. He is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
His avid interest in sports and fitness led Dr. Barnabas to volunteer as a team physician to local high school football, wrestling, and basketball teams. Dr. Barnabas joined the Marianjoy Medical Group in 2007, treating patients in subacute and inpatient rehab programs in the western Chicago suburbs.
